Capcom Japan has lifted the wraps off a brand new CGI Resident Evil film entitled Biohazard: Damnation.
As with Resident Evil Degeneration, the film will be completely disparate from Paul W.S. Anderson’s big screen adaptations of the long running horror franchise, and reacquaints fans with floppy-haired government agent, Leon S. Kennedy.
Damnation will be released in cooperation with Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2012 and will also be the first CGI Resident Evil flick to receive the 3D treatment. No further details are available at this time.
Elsewhere, fans of Anderson’s movies will be happy to know that actress Milla Jovovich has confirmed that a fifth instalment in the horror series will be made, following comments made in an interview with Vulture.
"So we’re definitely going to make another one," said Jovovich, who portrays Zombie killer Alice in the films.
"We’ve been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it’s probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It’s going to be a more interactive process."
