NetherRealm Studios‘ Mortal Kombat 11 made over $500 million in profit, according to former Warne Bros. Entertainment Global Brand Manager, Matt Welsh.
The LInkedIn profile for Welsh reveals “Achieved a top 5 title in 2019 with Mortal Kombat 11, a franchise first, and generated over $500MM in LTD profit.”
We already knew that Mortal Kombat 11 was a huge commercial success for Warner Bros, although it wasn’t known just how much it had generated profile wise until now. The publisher previously announced that the gory fighting game sequel had sold 12 million copies by July 2021, becoming the fastest-selling entry in the series to date.
Mortal Kombat 11 was originally released in April 2019 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and was later spruced up for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S packaged with all previously released DLC.
Naturally since it’s been four years since the game launched, there’s been a lot of rumors about Mortal Kombat 12, although nothing official has been announced yet.
