A new job listing posted by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has heavily indicated that fresh instalments in the NetherRealm-developed Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises are coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Job Listing Points To Mortal Kombat & Injustice For PS5

While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the job descriptions do indicate that NetherRealm is busy chiselling away on new entries in both franchises.

NetherRealm, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks a Principal Software Engineer – Graphics to drive the next generation console graphics vision for the Mortal Kombat™ and Injustice™ franchises.

As a Principal Graphics Engineer, you will work closely with the Lead Engineer and the rest of your peers to develop state-of-the-art graphics technology for the PS5 and XBOX Series X. Your domain will span the entire rendering pipeline, and your responsibilities will include optimization, design, and implementation of pivotal new graphics technology.

There’s always chance that it is working on ports for Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2 for next-generation consoles, but it sounds more like new projects are in the pipeline.

PS5 and Xbox Series X are both pencilled in for a holiday 2020 release.
