The Game Bakers is celebrating over 200,000 copies sold for its mountain climbing simulator Cairn, which launched for PC and PS5 on January 29, 2026.
Writing on the game’s official BlueSky account, the studio commented, “Is this the revival of Kami’s golden age of tourism? We couldn’t be happier to have welcomed 200,000 climbers to the mountain over the weekend.”
Dubbed a ‘survival climber’ by its creators, Cairn sees players controlling professional mountaineer, Aava, who has taken on the mammoth task of being the first person to reach the summit of Mount Kami. Set from a third-person perspective, Cairn has players navigating the mountain by reading the rock face to chart their climbing routes, manually positioning each of Aava’s limbs while she climbs, while placing pitons to serve as checkpoints.
Stamina plays a key role in the game as you have monitor this mechanic while being aware of Aava’s posture, as overextending or remaining in an uncomfortable position for an extended time will see you fall and resetting your progress. In addition, you must rest periodically, as well as eat and drink and repair equipment in order to be able to continue your journey efficiently.
