MultiVersus Dev Confirms New Details On Battle Pass, Free Rewards For Returning Players & New Currencies

Player First Games has revealed in a new blog post that anyone who played the MultiVersus Open Beta between July 2022 and June 2023 will be entitled to a free Premium Battle Pass for Season 1 of the game, which features the inclusion of Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees.

This offer is open so long as you log in to MultiVersus by June 11, although even if you don’t, so long as you’ve played the Open Beta you will receive the Snow Suit Finn character variant, Rising Stars ringout and a Banana Guard announcer pack.

In addition, both new and returning players will receive a seven-day reward calendar for finishing MultiVersus’ tutorial. If you complete all seven days you’ll gain access to the Banana Guard fighter from Adventure Time, and the Banana Guard variant.

As for the Battle Pass, Player First Games will offer more “high-value items” for its free and premium tiers, such as ring outs, character skins, taunts and currency. Speaking of which, Gleamium is the game’s premium currency, which you can obtain by simply playing the game. Previously, this was only available by spending real cash, so that’s a welcome change.

Meanwhile, MultiVersus will introduce new currencies in the form of Fighter, Perk, and Prestige. This is a step up from the previous iteration of the fighter, which had Gleamium and Gold currencies. Gold has now been given the boot, and players returning to the game from the Open Beta will receive exclusive “commemorative cosmetics” depending on how much Gold they obtained during the beta.

MultiVersus will make its return for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on May 28, 2024.
