Mutsumi Inomata, Character Designer For The Tales Of Series, Passes Away Aged 63

The character designer for the Tales of series, Mutsumi Inomata, has sadly died at the age of 63, her official Twitter account has confirmed.

Inomata-san passed away on March 10, although there are no further details available at the present time. Fans of the Tales of series will no doubt recognise her name as being involved in many core entries in the franchise over the years, with Inomata having worked on the Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of the Tempest, Tales of Innocence, Tales of Hearts, and more.

In addition, she also worked on the Tekken franchise, having provided costume designs for Tekken 5, Tekken 6, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the likes of Jin Kazama, King Xiaoyu, and Zafina.

Inomata was a big anime fan and worked for Ashi Productions as an animator, key animation director, and character designer on various anime television series.
