Namco registers new Tales trademarks

A fresh pair of trademarks have appeared for Namco Bandai’s Tales franchise.

Tales of Asteria and Tales of Kanade were both filed in Japan earlier this month, according to Gematsu.

Namco is gearing up for the announcement of the next mothership title in its venerable JRPG series, following the launch of a teaser site this week. As such, these trademarks could very well relate to the new game in some form.

However, there is also the mysterious Tales of Zestiria to consider, which was trademarked for Japan, North America and Europe earlier this year.

The most recent entry in the series is Tales of Xillia 2, which was released in Japan in early 2013. Its predecessor has already seen a western release, though the sequel won’t arrive in the U.S. and Europe until next year.
