NBA 2K23 has been revealed, with Michael Jordan picked as the cover star for the special editions of the game, and a release date of September 9, 2022 has been announced.
This is the third time in over a decade that Jordan has appeared on the cover – first with NBA 2K11, then NBA 2K12, and NBA 2K16.
In his original cover title, players were charged with “The Jordan Challenge,” which tasked players to re-create 15 of Jordan’s most iconic moments in his career, something the new trailer shown off today nods to.
It’ll also be coming back for players to once again try to be like Mike in 2K23.

Pre-orders are set to go live in just a couple of days on July 7, by which point more cover athletes will reportedly be revealed.
“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition.” said vice president of global marketing for NBA 2K Alfred Brody.
“We look forward to celebrating this game with the community when it’s released on September 9.”
