Developer Visual Concepts has announced that NBA 2K26 will launch on September 5, 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
The cover start for the standard edition of the basketball title has been named as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Three-time All-Star Oklahoma City Thunder Point Guard, 2024-25 KIA Most Valuable Player, and NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Meanwhile, Chicago Sky Forward, AT&T WNBA All-Star, 2024 All-Rookie Team, and NCAA Champion Angel Reese will feature on the cover of the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition, which is exclusive to GameStop in the US.

The NBA 2K26 Superstar Edition will feature Carmelo Anthony on the cover (Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, 10-time NBA All-Star three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and 75th Anniversary Team) while Gilgeous-Alexander, Reese, and Anthony will grace the cover of the NBA 2K26 Leave No Doubt Edition.
NBA 2K26 is set to introduce new ProPLAY features , with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners benefiting from the latest technology allowing for immersive features connecting them to every dribble, crossover and fast-paced dynamic movement. Elsewhere, MyTEAM in NBA 2K26 offers a single-player and multiplayer experience, which is set to put past and present legends to the test.
