Guerrilla Games has moved to assured PS5 fans that it’s working on other projects in wake of the announcement of NCSoft’s MMORPG Horizon Steel Frontiers, which is oddly skipping PlayStation in favour of PC and mobile formats.
Fans have understandably reacted disappointingly to the news that the Horizon title is not coming to PS5, seeing as how the franchise has become synonymous with Sony’s hardware. In its own post on X, Guerrilla Games first said that it “loved” working with NCSoft, and that it is “beyond excited to be able to hunt machines together in the world of horizon.” It then added that Guerrilla is “still busily working on more ways for you to do just that,” before confirming “more on that to come.”

While nothing has been announced yet, there have been rumours that a third entry in the Horizon franchise is currently in development. Back in September last year, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier stated that Horizon 3 is likely to be “ways off,” while insider TCMF Games on X said in May 2025 that the third instalment in the series is in the works and will “potentially launch in 2027” and could be a cross-gen release for PS5 & PS6.
