Need For Speed: Unbound Details Pour Out, Will Run At 4K/60 FPS, Include Offline Single-Player Campaign, Cross-Play Support, And More

After being rumoured for weeks and leaked a few times, Need For Speed Unbound has finally be revealed to the public, and with that we’re now getting a huge influx of information about it, thanks to a new report from IGN.

Firstly, the big thing to note is that since this is a current-gen only game, Criterion and EA are targeting a 4K resolution while running at 60 FPS.

It’ll also include cross-play support on launch for online multiplayer, and feature a single-player campaign that can be played offline.

Criterion also built it using the Frostbite engine, and Unbound will even have its physics running at high-frame rates to provide players with “more control and nuance to…the physical movement of the cars.”

EA also already has free content updates planned to come following its launch in December, though more details about what it’ll be and any other content beyond the launch window aren’t yet available.
