Injustice 3 is reportedly in the works at NetherRealm Studios, according to a listing on the resume of an artist working at Warner Bros. Games.
The artist lists the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy sequel as one of a number of AAA projects that they are currently working on, alongside two unannounced games. However, Injustice 3 is explicitly mentioned as one of the games they are working on. Nothing else is revealed, but it does align with previous reports that Injustice 3 is in the pipeline, after two prominent voice actors from the franchise reportedly told two separate X users last year that the sequel was in the works.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard chatter about Injustice 3, either. Back in September 2023, Ed Boon, the co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, stated during an interview with IGN that NetherRealm wasn’t at all ruling out any future Injustice games, but stopped short of confirming anything being in development. This was just prior to the launch of Mortal Kombat 1, so presumably Injustice 3 is the next major project from the company.
Injustice 2 was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in 2017. The game follows Batman and his insurgency’s efforts to restore society after the fall of Superman’s Regime, but their plans are thwarted by The Society and Brainiac, who force The Dark Knight and his forces to consider releasing Superman to aid them in combatting this new threat.
