D.I.C.E. has released 15 fresh screenshots for Battlefield 3, depicting a new level of realism in modern FPS games. Check out all the new screens here.
Note that the PC version of the title has been confirmed to be the lead platform, and in turn displays the best in visual quality as PC technology has already surpassed current generation platforms.
"PC is the leading platform, conceptually, for this game, definitely," DICE boss Karl Magnus Troedsson stated in an interview with PC Gamer. "We are going to make this game on 360 and PlayStation 3 as well, [but] we need to scale it down to those platforms."
"The hardware specs on the console are limited," Troedsson added. "At the same time, for each iteration on these console platforms we can utilize the power of them better and better, so what we do on the other platforms is going to be amazing, and look much better on the PC too."
With PC starting to take the reins on lead development again, one might muse as to how far off we are from announcements on Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo’s next-generation consoles. Battlefield 3 is set to release later this year.
