Silent Hill: Ascension is one of the new projects Konami revealed for its classic Silent Hill IP, though it’s not a clear-cut game in the same way as Bloober Team’s upcoming remake.
Ascension is instead an interactive series, where fans will tune in to watch a live episode, then during that episode, simultaneously make decisions to effect what will happen next.
How that happens isn’t exactly clear yet, it could likely be that viewers will tune in with a mobile device beside them, open to an app or webpage where they’ll vote as the episode progresses.
Where things get tricky is the notion that to accommodate for anyone who won’t be able to tune in live, the decisions will be left “open” for potentially an additional day, or even a whole week.
Once decisions are made final though, that’s canon for everyone, and there’s no going back, as Genvid’s chief creative officer Stephan Bugaj describes in a behind-the-scenes video.
Throught Bugaj and others from Genvid and lead writer Shanon Ingles from Martian Brothel, we get to see a lot more concept art and images from Ascension, giving us a better idea of what we can expect to see when it premieres, which is meant to be sometime this year.
