Bioware was once one of the most revered RPG developers, though they’ve long fallen from that mantle. However their next two titles should be the ones to bring them back to their roots.
In a new blog post on their website, Bioware provides an update to fans that the new Dragon Age is currently “right in the middle of production”, while the new Mass Effect is still being prototyped.
“Our blueprint was completed last year, so we’re now focused on building out our vision: creating amazing environments, deep characters, strong gameplay, impactful writing, emotional cinematics – and much more. The blueprint for the game is well understood and the team is focused.”
The blog post also announced that executive producer for the Dragon Age series Christian Dailey has left the company, after having been with them since 2018.
According to the post, we should be hearing more about Dragon Age “later this year”, though if they’re currently still in the middle of building the game, then it’s likely we won’t see a release until 2023, even 2024.
