Techland Studios has released a new trailer for its survival horror game Dying Light, showcasing the game’s asymmetric multiplayer.
“It’s a got a touch of the Dark Souls to it, in that your game can invaded by other players, taking on the role of the lethal Night Hunter – or you can invade theirs.” says Techland Studios, via a press release.
The trailer shows off the impressive Day to Night transition, as well as the various skills of the Night Hunter who is much more than just a brainless Zombie. In the video we see that he has various abilities like a Spiderman-esque web that allows you to travel around the city much faster. He can also utilise a Predator-like view that allows you to see your prey, and a lunge attack to quickly attack your enemies to make up for your lack of firearms.
“The game is absolutely huge as it is, but to provide the ultimate zombie survival experience, we added an extra element of unpredictability to our nighttime gameplay, Online players can face the threat of a possible invasion of their game by the Night Hunter, an extremely powerful, human-controlled zombie mutation. These invasions are an inherent part of Dying Light, available on all platforms for all online players from day one. However for our hardcore fans who pre-order, we’re offering them a bonus – Be the Zombie – which lets you actually take control of the Night Hunter and invade online games of other players.” says Dying Light’s Producer Tymon Smektala.
Dying Light also contains 50+ hours of gameplay and four-play co-op. Dying Light will be released in 2015 on January 27 in the U.S., January 28 in Australia and New Zealand, and January 30 in Europe and Asia.
The game will be available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
