New Far Cry Primal trailer arms us with primitive weapons

Ubisoft has unleashed a prehistoric-flavored Far Cry Primal trailer for your viewing pleasure.

This latest footage of the upcoming open-world title focuses on the various weapons that players can wield as they guide beast hunter, Takkar, through the hostile land of Oros. Check it out below.

Far Cry Primal is due for release worldwide on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on February 23. The game is a huge departure from previous entries in the multi-million selling franchise, with the action taking place 10,000 years BC.

As such, instead of contending with armed goons and taming elephants, you’ll be fighting rival tribes with axes, spears, and other primitive weapons while attempting to coax saber-tooth tigers into letting you hop on their backs to get around the map.

Takkar will be able to craft various items using his skills as a seasoned hunter and tribal leader, and gamers will be able to scout out the map using their trusty owl companion. There’s also a full day/night cycle that directly affects gameplay, as some foes will become more aggressive after dark.

Ubisoft has made it clear that Far Cry Primal is a full-fledged title, and while there’s no multiplayer or co-op on the table, the game world is said to be just as large as that of Far Cry 4. Those of you looking to invest in a PS4 soon and fancy a slice of Stone Age slaughter can pick up Sony’s console with a copy of Far Cry Primal later this month.
