New Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Jump Festa trailer brings fights, J-pop ballads & emotion

Square Enix premiered a new trailer for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD at the Jump Festa anime and manga expo in Tokyo and released the English version today.

Featuring Japanese pop ballads, panicky combat dialogue, and struggling heroes, this latest trailer brings on the emotion missing from the most recent trailers previously released.

Here you have a weeping, dying soldier, covered in blood and laying on his dead Chocobo, saying, “I don’t want to die” and Class Zero cadet Rem Tokimiya exclaiming, “They can’t save everybody, you know. No matter how strong they are.” This is the darkest game in the franchise yet as evidenced by the trailer beginning with with the first ever M for Mature rating for a Final Fantasy game. Type-0 was ranked #10 on a Famitsu poll of the top tear-inducing games so prepare for all those feels.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is a remastered port of the critically-acclaimed PlayStation Portable game and will release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 17, 2015 in North America and March 20, 2015 in Europe. A playable demo for Final Fantasy XV will be included with the game.
