New Final Fantasy XV details emerge, teasing living combat

Final Fantasy XV has accrued a great deal of hype in the industry. It’s set to feature a great deal of dynamic gameplay elements, unique leveling system, and stronger storytelling. With the release of a new magazine scan from Weekly Jump, even more juicy tidbits jump into the upcoming fray.

Found on Gamestalk.net, this magazine scan details five points of interest revolving around combat:

– If you use “Fire” magic in the grassy plains, the whole area will burst into flames all at once. The force of this will hurt your allies as well as your enemies.

– Noctis can mount monsters and in an instant reduce its physical strength.

– Attack monsters from the sky by jumping.

– Noctis sneaking into enemy territory as not to be discovered.

– A battle against Magitek Armor.

Geography will affect decisions made in combat, with fire in the desert being the first available example. This leads to the impression that other magical elements will play similar roles in converse environments as well. Stealth will play a part in the game as well, allowing for Noctis to remain out of sight and, more than likely, ambush unbeknownst enemies.

Final Fantasy XV is set to release this year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but the official release date won’t be set until March. Until then, stay tuned as more information is made public.
