New Kingdom Hearts 3 guest characters outed by voice actor

Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to feature classic Disney duo Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, according to voice actor Jim Cummings.

Speaking to a fan at the Albuquerque Comic-Con over the weekend (via KingdomHeartsInsider), Cummings was quizzed whether or not Darkwing Duck would be making an appearance in the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sequel.

While he didn’t have much to say on that particular subject (which is a shame, as Darkwing is a great character in his own right), Cummings did however reveal that both Winnie the Pooh and Tigger will be appearing in Kingdom Hearts 3. This could also mean that the 100 Acre Wood will put in an appearance, although that’s just speculation on our part.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference and is currently without a release date. However, Square Enix has hinted that the game is still some way off, and with Final Fantasy XV due this year, it is unlikely we’ll see the sequel out in 2016.

In the meantime, the Japanese software giant will release Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue on PS4, which remasters Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance and acts as a precursor title to Kingdom Hearts 3. In addition, the bundle also includes Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage.

This isn’t the first time Square Enix has remastered previous Kingdom Hearts titles either. The studio released two bundles for PS3 in the shape of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which remasters the original PS2 games and its various spin-off titles.

Much of Kingdom Heart 3 is being kept under wraps at present, although Square Enix has been drip-feeding us details for a while now. For example, we know that the game won’t feature Quick-Time Events, and will include aspects if Big Hero 6. In addition, the development team has said gamers can expect a near-seamless game world with few load times, and may include a third playable character.
