New Mega Man Games Haven’t Been Ruled Out By Capcom, Says It’s ‘Considering How To Approach’ Making New Titles

Speaking during a Q&A session during its latest shareholder meeting, Capcom has revealed that is considering how to approach developing new entries in the much-loved Mega Man franchise.

The Mega Man series has seen just three new games released over the past 15 years, although Capcom has been busy pumping out compilations of the series on a more regular basis. For the record, the last all-new games were Mega Man 9 (2008), Mega Man 10 (2010), and Mega Man 11 (2018).

In response to a shareholder pointing out that one million copies of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection have been sold, the publisher responded:

Including Mega Man 11, the latest entry in the franchise, Mega Man is one of Capcom’s historic IPs and is loved by fans, and as such we want to take care in how we develop the series. We are considering how to approach the production of new entries in the series, which requires numerous factors, including the development of a solid concept, ideas and gameplay, etc.
