With a growing list of brilliant PS4 exclusives separating Sony from the competition, it's an exciting time to be a gamer! Our God of War review launched earlier today and it's already a Game of the Year contender.
According to a new job listing on LinkedIn, Sony San Diego is on a recruitment drive. The studio is looking a software engineer for a currently unannounced game.
Part of the listing reads: âThis high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with a major Sony development studio. Though currently unannounced, we have a clear vision and plan to release. The new game development team will leverage our existing expertise and premier talent, guaranteeing a high visual quality bar for the title.â
New PS4 Exclusives In the Planning
In the desired qualifications it states that they're looking for someone with previous experience with a third-person action game. This isn't the only job where Sony San Diego are hiring for the same unannounced first-party title
The studio is hiring for multiple positions, including Lead Animator. In this description, as well as mentioning a third-person action game again, it states: âExperience implementing and fine tuning melee & ranged combat systems for console.â
Furthermore, we also know that another Sony group is involved – the Visual Arts Services Group, which is a division of SCEA's Product Development Services Group that's also based in San Diego. What's interesting about this section of Sony is the quality of games they've worked on.
We're talking about the likes of The Last of Us, The Order: 1886 and God of War. Whatever is in the planning, it sounds like something big. This particular animation and motion capture studio has created some stunning work.
In short, the team are hiring an army for a PS4 exclusive game, which is a third-person action game featuring melee and ranged combat. We can't wait to find out more. Perhaps the new PS4 game will be announced at E3 2018!
