Rumour – More PS5 Pro Specs Detailed, Includes 28% Increase In System Memory, High CPU Frequency More & More

A new report on Insider Gaming has revealed a slew of new details on the PS5 Pro Specs, which offers a comparison between the as-yet unannounced mid-cycle fresh and the standard version of Sony’s flagship console.

First up, the PS5 Pro system memory is reportedly clocked in a t 576GB/s (18GTs), which represents an increase o 28% over the standard PS5 model (448 GB/s (14GT/s). Meanwhile, the CPU, while identical to the regular PS5, features a High CPU Frequency Mode, which boosts it to 3.85GHz — 10% higher than the standard PS5.

In terms of audio capabilities, the PS5 Pro allegedly features a higher clock speed in regards to the ACV, which means the ACM library has 35% more performance in comparison to the regular console.

Finally, GPU details were previously already revealed, but here’s a recap:

  • Rendering 45% faster than PS5
  • 2-3x Ray-tracing (x4 in some cases)
  • 33.5 Teraflops
  • PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution
  • Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK version
  • Custom machine learning architecture
  • AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point

The PS5 Pro is reportedly launching in the second half of 2024 and is known internally as Project Trinity. Sony has yet to announced the console, but we should hopefully hear something in the next few months.
