Speaking during its latest financial results, CD Projekt RED has revealed that its new The Witcher game is currently in pre-production with over 100 developers involved in the highly anticipated fantasy epic.
In addition, the new title is reportedly in using the Unreal Engine 5, which isn’t surprising considering it’s still going to be a long time before it arrives on shelves. CDPR added that it is “really happy” with how the project is going.
Using the Unreal Engine 5, CDPR has said that it is already seeing improvements in terms of development efficiency, and that it’s working closely with Epic Games to ensure the tech is tuned and scalable. Its strategy going forward is to continue to developer “powerful open-world RPGs.”
Speaking of The Witcher, CD Project RED confirmed recently that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will launch in Q4 2022.
