Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog have released a new video for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which focuses on combat and progression for the upcoming revamp of Lara Croft’s 1996 adventure.
One of main points that the development team have stressed in this video is the importance of Lara’s iconic dual pistols, which of course not only return in Legacy of Atlantis, but can be used until the very end of the game if you wish. The team said that one of the key things they wanted to do was make sure the use of the pistols felt right, as they remain a core identity of Tomb Raider’s combat.
Beyond that, the game includes a Focus mechanic that builds as you perform actions, which enables you to slow down time and inject a bit of Lara’s classic acrobatics into the equation. There’s also skill trees featured in Legacy of Atlantis, with players able to make various meals that give you buffs such as reduced damage.
