Word has passed through the internet about a release date for Square Enix’s upcoming action-RPG NIER. Square officially announced today that NIER will be released this spring on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
This gives RPG fans quite a bit to do in the coming months. NIER is dubbed as the newest franchise from Square, leading us to believe there are already plans for sequels. The title is rated M, offering a bit more adult themes than some of Square’s other RPGs. The game is set to focus on intense action-packed battles, mixed with unique storytelling.
Those looking for a ‘feel-good’ story will probably want to look elsewhere as NIER is set in a world ‘plagued by human anguish, buried secrets and a ravaging disease.’ We love ravaging diseases. You’ll get the usual RPG elements of character development, allies, and magic, but you’ll also get some intense action-focused swordplay and combat.
Look for NIER to hit store shelves this spring.
