It’s no secret that Sony has always had large aspirations for its social networking application, Home. This was made abundantly clear from the day Sony unveiled several large market sponsors such as Red Bull, EA Sports, Ubisoft, Capcom and so on. The virtual items being sold off in Home are starting to fetch a pretty penny for the electronics giant, and it looks as though some stealthy ninjas are going to continue that trend.
Some of you may recall that we revealed Capcom’s plans to unload Street Fighter IV costumes for your Home avatars, but it seems that Ryu and Ken may not be the only martial arts masters making their way into the Home dojo. According to a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, ninja outfits will make their way into Home on February 12.
That’s not all! Sony is also planning a stellar giveaway for the ninjas that show up to the upcoming Gamer’s Lounge party.
"On February 13th, we’ll be holding an event called ‘I Love Ninjas.’ The first instance of the brand-new community-named Home hang-out space, the Gamer’s Lounge, to be completely filled with people in ninja costumes (or a reasonable facsimile using all-black clothing items in your inventory) that we see will win vouchers for SOCOM and Warhawk to celebrate the upcoming spaces," writes PlayStation Home Community Manager CydoniaX.
With all this out in the open, it may be time to get your ninja on.
