Nioh 3 Demo Set For January 29 Release On PS5, Save Data Will Carry Over To Full Game

Team NINJA has announced in a post on X that the Nioh 3 demo will drop on January 29, 2026 for PS5 and PC, just over a week before the full game launches.

The good news is that those of you who play the demo will be able to carry over your save data to the full version of Nioh 3, with the blurb suggesting players “create your custom protagonist and face the challenges that await in a dark Warring States era Japan.”

This latest chapter in the dark Samurai action-RPG franchise introduces an open field packed with exploration opportunities, while channeling the series’ trademark combat that sees players switching seamlessly between two distinct battle styles — Samurai Style and Ninja Style. Along your journey you’ll come up against menacing yokai while struggling against the ominous presence known as the Crucible, with darkness lurking around every corner.

Nioh 3 sees players jumping into the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, who is the grandchild of Tokugawa Ieyasu, and similar to the game’s predecessor you will be able to full customise your character’s appearance as the blurb above states. Beyond the main single-player campaign, Nioh 3 also features two online multiplayer modes in the form of Summon Visitor and Expedition; the former allows you to bring in another player to help out with bosses, while the latter has you exploring open fields together.

Nioh 3 is scheduled for release on February 6 for PS5 and PC.
