With No Man’s Sky’s much-anticipated PlayStation 4 debut just around the corner, developer Hello Games has unwrapped a brand new gameplay video for you to feast your eyes on ahead of the game’s August launch.
This latest trailer for the game takes a look at the various space battles that players will engage in as they explore a vast universe ripe with intrigue and beauty. It’s not all plain sailing though, as you’ll discover in the new gameplay trailer below.
No Man’s Sky is due out in the U.S. on August 9 and in the U.K. on August 10. The game offers a sprawling, procedurally generated open-world to explore, featuring a mind-numbing 18 quintillion planets to explore.
The game itself is built around four core principles, namely exploration, trading, combat, and survival. Upon discovering a new planet, gamers can land their craft and scan the environment for valuable minerals and info, which can then be uploaded to universal database known as the Atlus for all to see.
However, if you gobble up too many of any given planet’s natural resources, you’ll be hunted down by beings known as Sentinels, so there’s a price to how much you can harvest.
Unsurprisingly, given the vast nature of No Man’s Sky’s game world, Hello Games has said that around 99% of the game’s planets will not be visited.
