Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda has teased a possible No More Heroes & No More Heroes 2 PS4 remaster, confirming he’s been in talks with Marvelous Entertainment in regards to sprucing up the games for Sony’s current-generation console. Both titles were originally released for the Nintendo Wii, but have yet to be ported to modern platforms.
No More Heroes PS4 Remasters Teased By Suda51
Speaking during an interview with Dengeki Online, Suda-san was asked about a possible PS4 remaster of the first two No More Heroes games. In response, he confirmed that he is “currently discussing it with Marvelous,” and that the discussions “are being positive.”
He further teased that “an announcement regarding that might be coming soon.”
That’s about all we have right now on a potential No More Heroes & No More Heroes II PS4 remaster, but it definitely sounds encouraging.
Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, No More Heroes launched for the Wii back in 2007 and follows Travis Touchdown, an anime and video game fan who wields a beam katana and becomes embroiled in the United Assassins Association, where he ends up hacking and slashing his way through legions of high-ranked assassins.
No More Heroes was also released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan only, where it was known as No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise and featured extra content.
Meanwhile, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle hit stores in 2010 for the Wii and picks up three years after Touchdown ascended to the highest rank in the UAA. The sequel removes the overworld from the original No More Heroes, and also introduces a Deathmatch mode, allowing players to tackle bosses again after completing the game.
Suda51 unveiled No More Heroes III at E3 2019, confirming it will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in 2020. The latest instalment in the franchise, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, was released for the PS4, PC, and Switch earlier this year.
