Call of Duty: Black Ops developer Treyarch has poured cold water over any hopes of seeing an open beta for the hotly anticipated shooter, confirming that all beta testing is being dealt with internally at Activision.
Chatting with the folks at CVG following the recent multiplayer reveal event in LA this morning, community boss Josh Olin commented, "We’re already doing an internal beta with all sorts of Activision studios – thousands of people are participating in our beta.”
"That’s the only formal beta that we’re planning at the moment. There were a lot of misconceptions, confusion and Google ads. There was some speculation that we’d be launching a public beta tonight – that’s not happening. The beta is internal only right now."
Call of Duty: Black Ops is released on November 9.
