Capcom has confirmed that it will not be including platform specific characters in the forthcoming home console release of Street Fighter IV.
Word comes from an interview with Yoshinori Ono over at Videogamer.com, where the Street Fighter IV Producer made clear his views on platform exclusive content, revealing that he doesn’t consider it to be "fair."
“Well this is just my policy, but I don’t want to give an exclusive character for any particular console. And that applies to downloadable characters as well. Because it’s not very fair, when you think about this as a board game or a tool. Hidden characters? If we’re going to talk about hidden characters they won’t be hidden any more!” said Ono.
Street Fighter 4 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009.
