Obsidian has reported that about 20 – 30 employees have been laid off throughout various projects and teams.
Apparently, the layoffs occurred to employees “from all disciplines,” reports Joystiq, “including one person who started yesterday, as well as one who started last week."
The upcoming South Park RPG has reportedly been affected by this sad news as well, but what’s more is that apparently, Obsidian had to straight up cancel an unannounced next-generation project.
Whether you’re a fan of South Park, the industry as a whole, or even just video games in general, this is definitely some pretty gloomy news.
