The PlayStation Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath will be released in June 2012, developer Just Add Water has announced.
According to studio head Stewart Gilray, the handheld version of the classic platform title began development just over a month ago, and is expected to reach beta stage by E3.
“We started work on [the Vita version of Stranger’s Wrath] about five and a half weeks ago,” Just Add Water’s Stewart Gilray said on the latest PS Blogcast.
“The guy who’s doing it had actually never touched a Vita before — he just plugged it in and read the documentation. He probably spent half a week reading the documentation and then the next week he already had the code running.
“He was surprised how quickly he managed to get things going.”
Stranger’s Wrath was released in high-definition on PlayStation 3 in December 2011. Gilray confirmed that PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D support for the game is currently in QA, and should be with us by the end of the month.
Stay tuned.
