Original Tekken bringing the fight to PSN

Namco’s classic brawler Tekken looks set to make the transition Sony’s PlayStation Network service in the near future, according to a listing that’s popped up on the ESRB’s official website.

The website confirms that the beat ‘em up has been slapped with a T for ‘Teen’ rating, and will be available to download for PS3 and PSP. No release date was given, but expect it to show up in the not too distant future.

Tekken 2 has been available on Sony’s online service for quite some time now, so it seems appropriate that the inaugural entry in this venerable franchise would eventually follow suite – we just didn’t expect it to take quite as long as this.

Originally released in the arcades back in 1994, Tekken was later ported to PlayStation the following year boasting additional content such as unlockable ending FMVs for all major fighters, and also showed up in Tekken 5’s Arcade History mode.
