Naughty Dog has announced that it will be renaming its Last of Us themed celebration ‘Outbreak Day’ to “The Last Of Us Day”, due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. On top of that, the studio has teased some exciting reveals for September 26, 2020, which is The Last of Us Day.

In a post on Twitter, the developer highlighted that they didn’t feel that it was right to continue using the ‘Outbreak Day’ due to the challenges everyone is facing, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world still. In that same statement, Naughty Dog highlight that from this Saturday the celebration will be referred to as The Last of Us Day. On top of that, Naughty Dog has described this year’s event as having “a lot of exciting things planned.”

When it comes to what to expect, we think a PS5 Game of the Year edition of The Last of Us Part 2 seems likely, along with a patch for pre-existing owners of the game to get the new console’s upgrades. We might even see a reveal of the The Last of Us Part 2 Factions multiplayer which leaked earlier this year.

The Last Of Us Day will take place on September 26, 2020.
