Michael Pachter has said that the upcoming Electronic Arts-published titles, Mass Effect 4 and Mirror’s Edge 2, will be released before the end of March 2016.
Speaking in a recent Wedbush Morgan report (via VideoGamer), the analyst commented, "EA’s strong presence on the next-gen consoles positions the company to thrive in coming years.
FY:16 is expected to feature incremental releases Mass Effect 4, Mirror’s Edge 2, a new Need For Speed game, and Star Wars: Battlefront, as well as meaningful re-orders for Battlefield Hardline, which launched in late Q4:15."
Neither Mass Effect 4 nor Mirror’s Edge 2 have received any form of release date as of yet, although the former is expected to show up in 2016 regardless, according to an industry insider. For reference, EA’s FY:16 wraps in March 2016.
BioWare has continually drip-fed us info via Twitter over the past 12 months or so, including confirming the return of the Mako, the presence of an online component, and an extensive single-player campaign.
Despite this, we still don’t know what the game will be called (Mass Effect 4 simply being an obvious choice for now), and it’s unknown if it’ll be a prequel or sequel to the original trilogy. The title recently achieved another milestone in its lengthy development cycle.
As for Mirror’s Edge 2, that’s been on the quiet side since its announcement at E3 2013, and is expected to take the form of an origins story for protagonist Faith.
