PAIN’s Amusement Park severely glitched

Apparently any user deciding to purchase the Amusement Park add-on for PAIN, post-patch 2.53, has been greeted with a severely unawesome (yes, we made that word up) glitch. The patch, which adds YouTube support as well as a new free character to toss around the place, seems to be preventing the expansion from rendering a ton of things within the level. This leaves items falling through the background and landscape.

According to a forum post on the Official PlayStation forums, this problem is spreading quickly.

"Hey i just bought the pain Abusement park and i think i have the same problem as the guy in the thread. every time i try to play the map, theres no land, the sorrounding is all gray, and i just keep falling after i launch. I tried re downloading the game, reinstalling it, and patching it up (awfully long process). Didn’t resolve any issues. BTW the download is only 100KB (Abusement Park)??!! Another note, im not the only one having this problem."

"I just downloaded the "Abusement Park" add-on for PAIN and it’s not fully rendered. The ground and surrounding buildings do not appear and when I soar through the air, I go into the void and the game freezes. I just spent about five bucks on this and it doesn’t even function properly. Is Sony going to fix this or can I get my money back? This is absolute BS. I just threw my money away on something that doesn’t even work. Great quality assurance, Sony. You just ripped me off."

Unfortunately, much like the LittleBigPlanet glitch recently discovered, it’s doubtful we see any immediate fix given the time of year. However, thankfully, the holiday season is preparing to wrap up world wide come January 5. Perhaps by then, these freak glitches shall be corrected.

We’d like to know if any of our readers are experiencing this problem as well.
