The live-action Knuckles series will debut on Paramount+ on April 26, 2024 in the US and Canada, with other territories following on April 27.
Knuckles is a spin-off to the hugely successful Sonic the Hedgehog movies, and takes place in between the first and second films. The first episode of the Knuckles series is directed by Jeff Fowler, who helmed the Sonic movies and is also serving as executive producer for the spin-off.
The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

Knuckles made his debut in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 where he was tricked by Dr. Robotnik into helping him rebuild the Death Egg and stop Sonic and Tails. Since then, the character has appeared in numerous other titles and even got his own game, Knuckles’ Chaotix, on the 32x in 1995.
The third Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set to appear in cinemas in December 2024, and it was recently confirmed that Jim Carrey will be reprising his role as Robotnik in the movie.
