PETA Calls For A New God Of War Ragnarok Mode That Removes Violence Towards Animals

PETA has requested that God of War Ragnarok developer Sony Santa Monica Studio adds a new game mode to the game in order to remove any violence towards animals. Keep in mind that this article features some heavy spoilers about a particular boss encounter, so be warned.

God of War Ragnarok features Kratos squaring off against all manner of beasts, although they are heavily stepped in mythology, rather than real, everyday animals. However, PETA seems most upset about one particular encounter, namely Garm — a giant wolf that you fight in Helheim.

Here’s what PETA had to say in a video posted on Twitter:

This dog has been chained outside in the cold for ages. Kratos and Atreus found him in deplorable conditions, enduring the cold ravages of the Fimbulwinter without any shelter. No food (aside from Kratos) or water was available to him.

All dogs deserve loving homes and warm couches, even if they’re 60 feet tall. If you’re cold, they’re cold.

God of War Ragnarok is now available for PS4 & PS5, and you can read our full review here.
