PS5 UltraWide has possibly been hinted at in an advertising blurb for the new Phillips Momentum monitor, which appears to be targeting console gamers over PC. The device is currently without a release date.
PS5 UltraWide Support Possibly Confirmed
Clocking in at 34 inches, the Phillips Momentum supports 3440×1440 at 140hz 4ms, and teases: ‘Take your console gaming to the next level.’ As you can see, the marketing definitely seems to be skewed more towards console gamers.
Right now this is is probably simply poor advertising on Phillips’ part, as it seems a little too good to be true that consoles would support something that is a cornerstone of high-end PC gaming. Sony hasn’t announced anything regarding PS5 UltraWide support either, so I wouldn’t read too much into this for the time being.
That’s not to say the PS5 doesn’t still have some impressive horsepower under the hood, though. Just take a look at the full specifications for the console here.
The PS5 is currently slated for release in holiday 2020, where it’ll be going head-to-head with the Xbox Series X from Microsoft.
