Ahead of the complete NPD results, Sony has confirmed the PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console this past month in the United States, beating out the Microsoft Xbox One and Nintendo Wii U.
Sony Computer Entertainment enjoyed its best Black Friday sales numbers to date and the PS4 continues to be the fastest-selling PlayStation console in the company’s history.
The PlayStation Store also saw its strongest month ever, “indicating a strong digital marketplace complementing healthy retail sales,” said Eric Lempel, Sony Computer Entertainment America Senior Vice President of Marketing.
Right before Thanksgiving, Sony revealed the PS4 sold-through over 30.2 million consoles. PS4 also beat out Xbox One across the pond in the United Kingdom on Black Friday .
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has admitted Sony’s console has a ‘huge lead’ over the Xbox One. Recently, analyst Michael Pachter bluntly stated that there is “nothing” Microsoft can do to catch up to the PS4.
