PlayStation Compatible Halo Games Reportedly Uncovered By Datamine

Fresh murmurs about the impending release of the Halo franchise on PS5 have emerged in a recent datamine, which has uncovered references to PlayStation compatible Halo games in the API.

That’s according to RebsGaming, who has provided a number of scoops on Halo titles in the past using grunt.api as a main source. For example, back in 2021 grunt.api was used to predict the release of the multiplayer mode for Halo Infinite. Building on this, the latest scoop reveals “a new Halo title with PlayStation compatibility is listed in the API.” This game was also linked to PlayFab last week, which is a backend platform aiding services including cross-platform progression, matchmaking, and unified online services.

In addition, a second Halo title and a beta title compatible with PlayStation were also unearthed in the API, but few details are available on these games. However, it is believed the new Halo title could be Project Ekur, the multiplayer title from Certain Affinity. RebsGaming suggests that the “best case scenario” would be to have announcements for Halo Combat Evolved Remake, Project Ekur, and Project Ekur beta during the Halo World Championship 2025 in October.

As previously reported, it is believed that Halo Combat Evolved Remake/Remaster is going to launch in 2026 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Xbox and the original release of Bungie’s shooter. Back in January, leaker NateTheHate state that both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Flight Simulator 2024 were heading to the PS5 an Nintendo Switch 2.
