UPDATE 1: While the PlayStation Status site still at time of writing reports that the issues are ongoing, anecdotally this news writer was finally able to download the VR mode of Resident Evil 4, so it looks like things are slowly being fixed.
UPDATE 2: The PlayStation Status site is now reporting that all issues have been fixed, and players should no longer be experiencing problems.
Thankfully these problems are resolved, but the earliest reports of issues indicate there was a problem for little more than 2 hours before things got fixed.

PlayStation players suspected that the PlayStation Store is experiencing server issues as they are unable to actually download any content they’ve recently purchased, with PlayStation later confirming their suspicions to be right.
Players were reporting this mainly regarding issues downloading the Resident Evil 4 VR Mode and the new Final Fantasy XVI DLC that was revealed during Thursday’s Game Awards.
Every time a player tries to download either of these new add-ons or some report just anything else, error code CE-107982-7 appears and it doesn’t download.
The issue doesn’t seem to persist with content players have had for some time, mainly newer titles. Though there are also players reporting a discrepancy between games with larger space requirements versus smaller ones.
Even that though doesn’t exactly solve it, considering that the Resident Evil 4 update is only a few GB’s on top of the game’s file size.
The PlayStation Status site was at first reading as everything being okay, with DownDetector and players on Reddit, even this news writer telling a different story.
It has since acknowledged that the PlayStation Store and gaming and social services are currently “experiencing issues.”
