Sony Computer Entertainment has today announced that it is to cease PlayStation Mobile support for Android platforms.
In a statement released on the Japanese branch of its website, the electronics mogul issued the news, meaning that any Android user who updates beyond OS 4.4.2 software may encounter general errors as well as not being able to access the PlayStation Store, which is of course used to purchase and download content.
Furthermore, the upcoming Android L OS software update will mean all access to the Store will be ceased.
No complete reason was given for the decision, but it’s said that SCE is looking to put all its eggs in the collective PS Vita basket – which of course will be music to the ears of gamers who righteously champion Sony’s flagship handheld system.
