ORIGINAL – May 6, 2020:
According to data collected by DownDetector, UK gamers are experiencing PSN sign-in issues, with folk unable to access their accounts. Despite this, those who are already logged in don’t appear to be having problems, with gameplay and PlayStation Store remaining largely unaffected.
While it’s not uncommon for PSN to experience issues, it’s worth noting that the service is under more pressure at the moment due to the amount of users flocking to PSN as a result of lockdown measures.
The on-going coronavirus outbreak has resulted in more users having to stay home, some of whom are unable to work at all, which has seen a massive spike in gaming during the daytime. As such, PSN is bound to strain under the pressure now at times.
Sony previously confirmed that it has put in place measures to help cope with the increased demand, with download speeds being slowed to accommodate the extra PSN usage.
