MONDAY, JULY 21

The Last of Us 2 not on the horizon, says Troy Baker

The voice actor behind The Last of Us protagonist Joel has said that a sequel to the critically acclaimed action-adventure title is not currently on the horizon.

Uncharted 4 dev pushing for 1080p/60fps for all PS4 games

The developer behind the award-winning Uncharted franchise has revealed that it is aiming for all of its future PlayStation 4 games to run at 1080p/60fps, after achieving the milestone with The Last of Us: Remastered.

Doom won’t be shown to the public until 2015

Bethesda lifted the wraps off the long-delayed Doom reboot at QuakeCon last week, but for the rest of us, it is unlikely we’ll catch our first glimpse of the hotly anticipated FPS until 2015.

Borderlands 3 ‘will happen,’ says Gearbox

A third instalment in the Borderlands franchise will definitely materialize at some point, developer Gearbox Software has assured fans.

Assassin’s Creed Unity stabs naval gameplay in the jugular, is 100% land-based

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Unity, the latest chapter in its multi-million selling stab-’em-up franchise, will eschew the naval elements that rose to prominence in last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Battlefield: Hardline pushed back to early 2015

Battlefield: Hardline is set to miss its original fall release window, instead launching in early 2015, publisher EA has announced on the game’s official website.

Crash Bandicoot revival not ruled out by Naughty Dog

Naughty Dog has refused to rule out a possible return to the Crash Bandicoot franchise following persistent rumors of a comeback for Sony’s former marsupial mascot.

Star Wars Battlefront to launch ‘preferably close’ to Episode VII

Star Wars Battlefront publisher Electronic Arts has said that it is hoping to bring the hotly anticipated title to stores around the same time as the forthcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode VII.

PS4 system software 1.75 coming soon, including 3D Blu-Ray support

Sony announced that another update will be available soon for the PlayStation 4.

PlayStation users affected by 2011 PSN security breach to receive $15 million worth of digital goodies, including free games

$15 million worth of digital content will be given out to users affected by the large scale PlayStation Network security breach of 2011, which saw hackers gain access to data from 77 million user accounts.

New Bioshock teased by mysterious image on 2K Twitter account?

2K Games is teasing fans via its Twitter account with an image that appears to suggest new Bioshock news is imminent.

Pre-order standard Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX and get Limited Edition free upgrade

Square Enix has confirmed that gamers will receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition version of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX if they pre-order the standard version from participating retailers.

A new teaser trailer unveiled by Mass Effect developer BioWare has indicated the company is gearing up to announce its new IP at Gamescom next month.

The producer behind the long-running Tekken franchise has confirmed the upcoming seventh numbered entry in the beat-’em-up series will be released in 2014.
