PlayStation Plus free games lineup for January 2016 revealed

As the year draws to a close, and people the world over still struggle to get off the sofa following their sixth chocolate binge of the day, Sony have kicked off 2016 early with the January Plus update. The lineup is as follows.

Grim Fandango Remastered: PS4/PS Vita

Hardware: Rivals: PS4

Dragon Age: Origins: PS3

Medal of Honor: Warfighter: PS3

Nihilumbra: PS Vita

Legends of War: Patton: PS Vita

So, what are the highlights of this first Plus update of 2016? Well, Hardware: Rivals is making its PS4 debut on Plus, so it could yet be a dark horse. There has to be some hope for a sequel to a PS2 title that was clearly inspired by Twisted Metal, right?

Then there’s Grim Fandango; one of the smartest, funniest adventure games ever made. Though it could be something of an acquired taste for anyone who missed out the first time round and frustrates easily, as the adventures of Manny Cavalera are something of a fiddly, mind-boggler by modern standards.

Dragon Age: Origins on PS3 is probably the other big selling point, but Medal of Honor: Warfighter is a stinker that tanked the franchise for good.

So, aside from the usual ‘where’s the AAA games?’ comments, is there anything in this Plus update people are looking forward to? Let us know below!
