Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service is celebrating its fifth year in existence this month and the mammoth Japanese conglomerate has a host of special activities planned for gamers throughout the months of June and July.
For those unaware, pretty much since its inception back in June of 2010, PlayStation has held various monthly contests via its community forums for its PS+ user base and this particular month is of course no different. With a massive five-year subscription at stake, gamers who wish to participate must collect a number of custom-created Trophies which are housed in this month’s Instant Game Collection.
For those craving recognition for taking part in challenges of the past, fear not. PlayStation has also announced a ‘Hall of Fame’ and ‘PS+ Leaderboard’, with the former championing who ever came out on top in a particular challenge of yonder, and the latter using a points-based system that will eventually render you entitled to claim a prize. It’s not just for the highly proficient, mind, as you get points for just participating and joining in on the all-round fun.
It doesn’t end there, however, as Sony has a lot up its collective sleeves to celebrate PlayStation Plus’s milestone so expect some announcements within E3 next week.
