PlayStation Portal Debuted As 4th Best-Selling Hardware In US For November 2023

Circana analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed that the PlayStation Portal has debuted as the fourth best-selling hardware platform in the US for November 2023, despite having only limited quantities at launch.

As previously reported, the PS Portal, despite being a device simply used to stream content from your PS5, is not being traked as an accessory by Circana — it’s instead considered a console. Interestingly, an unearthed patent indicates that Sony had been working on the PS Portal (or at least a device similar to it) since 2017 or possibly even earlier.

As previously reported, the PS Portal, despite its price point, has been performing well since its launch, and at one point it sold out resulting in scalpers quickly taking advantage of the situation. Sony had previously said that it wasn’t designed to turn a profit, but seems to be doing better than many probably expected.
